Hello I am a mature teen (age of 16) who has never smoked any kind of marijuana in his life. Yet still I can safely say without a doubt that marijuana should be legal to buy.

Marijuana or weed is a class C drug (soon to be class B) however even though it is illegal it is one of the most widely used drug in Britain. Many people argue that weed funds most terrorism in the world today however many of them over look the fact that if the drug was legalized then it won't fund any form of terrorism and instead would feed back into the counties economy. Some members of the public argue that because the government have made it illegal it must be worse for us then many other things, to this argument I simply have to say that a while back a woman voting was illegal and so was two people from different ethnic origins marrying. Were they bad as well? Also I would like to say that there are much more dangerous things that are available to the public, for example alcohol. Alcohol does not only knock of most of the brains think power and in the long term it can cause illnesses such as liver damage, stomach cancer and heart disease. while weed does have the same effect on the brain as alcohol does it does not effect the person much after the effect of the drug has worn off unlike alcohol witch cause what is normally called a "hangover." It is also known that Alcohol is blamed for contributing to all kinds of problems in Britain, from violent crime to domestic violence and to car-related deaths. Weed on the other hand has almost nothing to do with any crimes. Now many may argue this point saying that drug dealers or "pushers" may cause crime over the drug. My answer is to legalize it to stop them earn profit from it and sell the drug in safer places like shops. We also know about the effects on someone's thinking with alcohol and weed. while with alcohol it cause the person to do stupid things (E.g. walking into the middle of the road) and it also causes people to have violent mood swing causing them to turn angry and become a threat to the public. However many users of weed never do such things as the drug causes a clam and laid back attitude to surface, it also causes the user to become tired, meaning they would never attack any of the public causing no harm to anyone around them.

As most of us know many people who are anti-marijuana normally know nothing about the drug its self so here is some useful information

. experts testing the drug marijuana have never been able to find out the LD-50 of the drug (the LD-50 is the amount of a drug someone can have in one go before causing serious health risks. it is more commonly known as the lethal dose) they have got an estimate to it and that the LD-50 is 1:20,000 or 1:40,000. The average marijuana cigarette weighs about 0.9 grams this means someone would have to smoke 15,000 pounds in under 15 minutes to be able to kill them. This is just impossible even if someone tried to do it.

. Marijuana can be used to stop pain in many people this is what's known as medicinal use. to use marijuana in this way pose's no real risk to anyone and it can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, epilepsy, glaucoma and many others.

I believe that if it is legalized marijuana will cause no more of a threat to anyone then smoking does and even less harm then alcohol. If you agree please join this group and pass it around to everyone pro and anti marijuana alike
